OPTIMACE – Two alchemists who hover between composition and decompostion; the result of an intensive cooperation between DJs/producers Optimus and Mace. Using all types of equipment like the SP12, Akai samplers, Juno & Korg synths and materials like stoves and brushes OptiMace created a playful mixture of beats, jazz, fusion and soundscapes. The two, who already combined forces in DigHeads and Fremdkunst, invited Belgium saxophone player Erwin Vann to add some mind-blowing brass to the tracks. The superb artwork of this release is done by Klaas Verplancke and Mister Adam.

The digital version of this release comes with a bonus-track: Flash which has DJ Vindictiv adding some outstanding turntable-wizardry to this energetic track build around an uptempo, vintage break. Get the digital version right here! Also make sure you watch the teaser & the official video!

Mace and Optimus recently put out ‘The future is not what it used to be – part 1‘, the first one in a series of Optimace-remix-7-inches. This one features reblends by Big Mister Doom, KRSUR and Illy Symphony. OptiMace released a follow up to the ‘Used Future‘ EP, called ‘This music is not music’ on Kitchen Dip Recordings (make sure you pay a visit to this great community). Earlier, OptiMace/DigHeads worked with Skiggy Rapz for Dutch television BNN. They were ‘ordered’ to make a song in a day. And so they did…
