Emufucka presents his third EP (after Retrace and Planar Rift), entitled Island, for Fremdtunes! The Tokyo-based artist delivers a soulful and melodic 4-tracker stacked with bass, trap, soundscapes and beats. More subtle than his regular EDM-bangers and more dancefloor-friendly than his future beat wizardry, Island is a profound and ingenious excursion through the isle that’s called Emufucka.

WHO’S EMUFUCKA?
Don’t get it twisted, the man behind this somewhat odd moniker is a true future beat wizard that would never harm any animals, humans, or classic sample sources. His blissful electronic-fueled rhythm sculptures have already created a decent buzz amongst today’s worldwide beats & bass scene and his soundscapes always leave enough space for improvisation and that moment of quirky playfulness. Emufucka collaborated with Submerse, Djemba Djemba, DZA, Quarta330, Coco Bryce, King Henry of Virtual Boy, My Dry Wet Mess and Tokyo Hands among others, participated in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in New York in 2013 and signed singles and EP’s to imprints such as Black Hole Recordings (the Dutch record label founded by Tiësto), Rub A Duck and Fremdtunes. He also performed at the Ultra Music Festival 2014, Sónar Sessions 2014, Vladivostok Rocks Festival 2013 and The Do Over in New York.
His music has been recognized and praised by the very best in tastemaking and mainstream media. Emufucka has been featured on various large-scale radio programs such as: BBC Radio 1Xtra (UK), BBC Radio 6, KCRW (LA), Inter FM(JP), Dublab (LA), Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel Radio Show to name a few. Subsequently, Wired, Fact Magazine, All Saints, Dazed & Confused Magazine, DJ Mag, XLR8R, Earmilk, Red Bull Music Academy, Red Bull Japan, Japan Times, The Find Magazine and more have covered him.
