- Mister Smeekens a.k.a. DJ Optimus grew up flying through the stratosphere as a Michael Jordan wannabee and/or imagining leading the Bones Brigade. Almost caught a ‘South-Bronx-gangsta-swag’ by playing Criminal Minded 24/7, but managed to keep it down to earth because of his work as swimming-pool superintendent and executing other peculiar jobs (highlight: trash-man). In time, he mastered the art of moving a vinyl record back and forth on a turntable (source: Wikipedia) and thumping beats out of the MPC assuring himself a safe and sound future. Nowadays he’s the Louis van Dijk of the Fender Rhodes, the Billy Cobham of the SP12 and the Paris Hilton of the Line 6 loopstation. Imagine that.
