Emufucka presents his third EP (after Retrace and Planar Rift), entitled Island, for Fremdtunes! The Tokyo-based artist delivers a soulful and melodic 4-tracker stacked with bass, trap, soundscapes and beats. More subtle than his regular EDM-bangers and more dancefloor-friendly than his future beat wizardry, Island is a profound and ingenious excursion through the isle that’s called Emufucka.
A new cut and paste blend of tracks by Kool DJ Mace on Mixcloud! Featuring Jefferson Airplane, Claude, Fremdkunst, Emufucka, 1000 names and many otheres…

Proudly we present: Zibaldone! The 7th EP Kool DJ Mace releases as Fremdkunst. On Zibaldone, Mace builds on shreds of previous releases and new compositions while navigating the Fremdkunst spacecraft into well-known and unknown territory. With the help of Shycop (guitar), Wiboud Burkens (keys), Erwin Vann (sax + fx) and Vincent den Hengst (drums) Mace composed an otherworldly sonic patchwork. Besides being inspired by Giacomo Leopardi’s extensive intellectual ‘notebook’ called Zibaldone, he took influence from recordings of NYC parkjams in the 70’s, cold nights on bald mountains, Lindy-hoppers, Suspiria, Verner Panton, expressionism and dilla-ism. About a year or so ago, my dear friend and walking, talking, scratching Hip Hop encyclopedia DJ Mace asked me if I were up for writing a column of sorts for the Fremdtunes blog. I gladly accepted this offer, but never really got to actually writing anything. Up until now that is. I was told I could pick any subject I wanted, just as long as it had something to do with music. So I decided to go with simply picking some of my favorite tunes from the past (and present). Not necessarily hard to find or crazy obscure stuff, just the ones that come with fond memories, or songs that have always stood out to me because of their sheer weirdness. This first one isn’t all that weird or anything though, it’s just that I’ve loved it from the very first time I ever heard it, back when I first started DJ’ing in the mid 90’s.
