Close to two years ago, Breda-based producer Esolar a.k.a. Saccage released his Yield & Continue EP on Fremdtunes. One of the key-tracks on this EP was the Coco Bryce Remix of ‘Monkey Business’. All though this was a remix, Esolar never published the original track…till now. Finally you can listen to the original version on youtube, and thus watch it too. The accompanying, highly amusing, animated video is created by Joost Raaijmaakers & Esolar.

Today, it’s independence day, so we could tell you to ‘stay independent’ and celebrate the indie- and diy-culture, but that’s something we’d like you to decide for yourself. Instead, we celebrate the release of ‘Yield & continue’ by Dutch producer Saccage. This release (digital only!) is available on downloadstores like Boomkat, Digital Tunes, Juno & Addictech. Saccage produced two jazzed-up Hip Hop tracks for this debut. ‘Security of misfortune’ dips the listener’s brain in a wistful voyage, while ‘Let it go’ has MC Rude-D distributing some nice, direct vocals on a downtempo Hip Hop beat. Belgium’s finest 40 Winks (Project Mooncircle) remixed ‘Security of misfortune’ and turned it into an authentic tour the force. Coco Bryce (Myor/Fremdtunes) ft DJ Mace remixed ‘Monkey business’ in his perpetual effective way.
Saccage earlier released some great tracks. One of ‘m (together with USA mc Incense) ended up on Tropical Heat Volume 1 by Myor: get this record here. In 2007, Saccage released a limited split EP with Rude-D. There’s only a few copies left: order these here.
A brand new OptiMace video, the release of ‘Double Helix DNA’ by DJ Optimus and an upcoming digital EP by Saccage and Fremdkunst…beaucoup de news concerning Fremdtunes. But, of course, there’s more out there in the field of music.
First, we’d like to tell you about the official debut by Glasgow ranger Soosh: his first release is out on Fuselab/Alpha Pup Records. Soosh sounds like melodic abstract syrup with a good mixture of hip-hop and intricate soul. Infatuated with complex textures, floating rhythms and all post-post Soosh invites us to break from all the swag and boom-boom wonk-dom. Original, colorful and a definite must-have. Of course, such a talented fellow had to be invited by us for a release, so be prepared for his forthcoming EP on Fremdtunes.
Finest Ego (Project Mooncircle) monthly treats their listeners to a fine mix, this month it’s a mix by Pavel Dovgal from the Ukraine. DJ Mace also uploaded a monthly mix including tracks by Arthur’s Landing, Mo & Grazz, Pierce Warnecke, Light Club, DJ Optimus, Blank Blue, Kinny, Kid Sundance, Harmonic 313, 1000names, Saccage (40winks Remix), Fremdkunst (Solo Moderna Remix) and Electric Wire Hustle. These last guy’s, from New Zealand, will perform at the De Melkweg (Amsterdam, NL) on July 15th alongside Ladi6 ft. Parks & Julien Dyne, Electric Wire Hustle, Benny Tones, Isaac Aesili and Pacific Riders to give you a taste of the future of electronic soul, funk and hip-hop. Electric Wire Hustle will also perform at Dour: the Belgium Festival has such a great line-up: do not miss!
So that’s it for today, stay tuned!
While we’re preparing the release of ‘Double Helix DNA’ by DJ Optimus, we’d like to inform you about the following release on Fremdutunes: ‘Yield & continue’. Dutch producer Saccage will release his debut EP on Fremdtunes on July 4th. This release (digital only!) will be available on downloadstores like Boomkat, Digital Tunes, iTunes & Juno.

One of our guests was Coco Bryce (who did a great skweee and dubstep set). He’s about to release a 7″ on his label Myor by Kelpe who earlier did the Chocolate Money EP on Fremdtunes. You can preview the tracks right here: http://20shotsequence.blogspot.com/2011/06/listen-kelpe-same-new-era-snippets.html. Also, the same fella did a remix for our upcoming release ‘Yield & continue’ by Saccage (also featuring Rude-D & 40 Winks). You can preview the tracks on Juno:
So, that’s it for today…enjoy!
While we just released ‘Used Future’ by OptiMace and the digital version of ‘Fremdtunes – the series 2′, we have a lot of other releases coming up. Ofcourse, May 30, we’ll have ‘The series 2′ available on vinyl.
After the release of this labelsampler, DJ Optimus will present his debut LP ‘Double Helix DNA’ to the world. The main ingredients? Hip Hop beats rich with Jazz and Funk influences, Turntablism, Electronica and a whole squadron of guests, including Rasco, Prince Po, iET, MC Rise, Maylay Sparks, Mo & Grazz and El Da Sensei. It’s jazzy, funky, energetic, dreamy, straight forward and with the boombap right at its core.
Also: Fremdkunst is currently finishing part 2 of the ‘Zauberschwein im krankenhaus’ series. It’s called ‘O sweet schwein of mine’ and has 5 instrumental, electronic and jazzy tunes with music by DJ’s Mace, Optimus & Vindictiv and saxophone players Nicolas Kummert and Rene Everts. Miami Vice vs Demonfuzz vs Bright Lights, Big City vs Zarathustra vs ….
And here we have a little treat for you: free download of the track ‘From Houston with love’ of this upcoming EP.
While we released the digital version of our EP ‘Used Future’ by OptiMace, one of our favorite producers, Daedelus, released his new album ‘Bespoke’ and it’s one hell of an album. Experimental, catchy, funky. So. Go get it! http://ninjatune.net/nl/release/daedelus/bespoke.
Also, one of our other favorite producers, Coco Bryce, has been busy lately. Not only as a producer, but also as chief executive at Myor. He’s about to release the Crystal EP by Utrecht’s native KRSUR and it’s an absolute, absolute, absolute must-have. Read more on this upcoming release on Coco Bryce’s blog: http://20shotsequence.blogspot.com/2011/02/krsur-myor-ep-preview.html.
And there’s more good stuff from the Benelux out now: Belgium’s producer-group 40Winks just released their new LP on Project Mooncircle. The album is called ‘It’s the trip’. It sure as hell is one and not a bad one either! Read more on this one at http://www.projectmooncircle.com/releases/85. Nice to mention: 40Winks will do a remix for Saccage’s 4-track debut EP (FR2011-05 digital release). So will Coco Bryce. This EP will be out in July 2011.
So, that’s the Fremdcast for today. Enjoy the weather.
