We have split release with the ever-surprising, wonderful Dutch label Shipwrec!
We’re casting off for uncharted waters, setting sail to proudly introduce a new release to our ever expanding rosters. Julian Edwardes, who only just released his debut EP Paragon, presents his first outing on 10-INCH vinyl taking elements of Bass and Hip Hop and twists them into a new form. The title track judders and shakes into life with a controlled tempo adding gravity to the mix. Sombre notes drop to create a melancholic muscular beast. The flip sees E.R.P. aka Gerard Hanson aka Convextion flying in from Texas on remix duty. Hanson weaves his magic, a lush melody of IDM depth descends to elevate this remix into something sublime.

FREMDKUNST ‘GOLDEN YEARS’ FREE DOWNLOAD
July 17, 2012Last Sunday we celebrated our second anniversary at Bird, Rotterdam. Since we had such a good time (thank you all for celebrating with us!) we decided to share a free Fremdkunst track with you. The song is called ‘Golden Years’ (featured on the last Coco Bryce and Lee Spacey mix) and was produced by DJ Mace featuring Shycop on trumpet. ‘Golden Years’ preludes the forthcoming Fremdkunst-record ‘Melancholia’.

FREMDTUNES 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

In April we celebrated our second anniversary. And next Sunday (July 15) we will celebrate it ‘in the flesh’ at Bird, Rotterdam – during Street Science Festival.
We organized a record fair, where a bunch of great DJ’s (like Coco Bryce, Pathless, Frankadelic and OptiMace) will be spinning records. Plus: Mister Adam, Saskia Haex, Lucky Dubz and Hans Foks will create live artwork on blank record-covers.
We are also invited together with filmmaker/producer/label-owner/DJ Mike Redman (Redrum) to join the talk-show ‘Mybio’ the same day (starts at 17.30). Special guest DJ is our Swedish friend DJ Devastate.

Pierce Warnecke, labeled as ‘one to watch, this fella’ on Boomkat, just released his digital single and already hit us with new material for his forthcoming EP (including remixes by Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez, Big Mister Doom & Kelpe). So you can imagine we’re pierced by a tsunami of electronic goodies. Stay up to date, so we can inform you about this upcoming release…
In the meantime, Rotterdam-based label Redrum (run by Mike Redman) released The Underground Hits part 2. This collection of hardcore, underground tracks includes the smashing ‘Pound for pound’ by DJ Optimus ft Prince Po and work by DJ Grazzhoppa, Terilekst, Ill Productionz, Git Hyper & Duvel, Eni-less, Mike Redman and many others. Some more on other labels: after we just published our Fremdblend 3 mix (blended by Mister Critical) on Laid Back Radio, Kitchen Dip Recordings publish their Acoustic Cuisine #2 on Laid Back. Two good reasons (and there’s a whole lot more) to become familiar with Laid Back Radio!

Hip Hop beats rich with Jazz and Funk influences, Turntablism, Electronica and a whole squadron of guests, including Rasco, Prince Po, iET, MC Rise, Maylay Sparks, Mo & Grazz, Gumshoe, GMB, Ill Pro, Nicolas Kummert, Budy Mokoginta and El Da Sensei, are the main ingredients of his debut. FREMDTUNES UPDATE

A lot has been going on at Fremdtunes HQ. First of all, we are about to release the ‘Chocolate Money EP’ 12″ by Kelpe ft remixes by Huess and Coco Bryce on November 22nd. Just recently we released our first album ‘Fremdkunst: b-beats & soundscapes’ (which had a great review in Dutch music-magazine Fret) and November 1st we put out our first vinyl record: ‘Fremdtunes – the series 1′: a 12″ labelsampler with music by DJ Optimus, Coco Bryce ft Gumshoe (The Proov) and Incks (Real Phresh), Kid Sundance and Solo Moderna. Nice to mention: the debut LP ‘Boesoek’ by Coco Bryce (releasedate February 14th 2011) is being mastered by Mokosound and so is ‘Fremdkunst: Zauberschwein by candlelight’. ‘Zauberschwein’ is a digital EP which will be released as – because we are so very generous people - free download on our bandcamp page. Mister Adam must be the most busy man on this planet because he’s doing all covers and designs for these releases, plus he’s working hard on a new expo with his superb project Mashville.
