Tonight at 23.00 (GMT +1) we’ll air a new episode of Fremdtunes @jazznotjazz at De Concertzender!

A few weeks ago it was two years ago we put out ‘The Machine Serves‘ by Pierce Warnecke. Warnecke, Berlin-based recording artist, also worked with us on ‘Reprogram‘ and reworked a track by Julian Edwardes. You will soon be able to hear this track, but for now, let’s go back to 2011 and let the machine serve you…
Pierce Warnecke, previously releasing The Machine Serves and The Machine Regrets on Fremdtunes, is set to release his latest album ‘Non Lieu’ with Rodolphe Loubatière on Gaffer Records. The album is the result of an exploration of extremes in dynamics, timber and time between percussion and electronics. .Warnecke is, besides being an innovative musician/producer, a video-artist and here’s his latest piece of art.
We present! Fremdblend – tunes for the future – volume five: a mix of snippets of recent and upcoming releases mixed by OptiMace (DJ’s Mace & Optimus). The mix features tracks and appearances by artists like Big Mister Doom, Coco Bryce, Emufucka, E.R.P., Jay Hats (new on our roster!), Julian Edwardes, Kid Sundance, Planes and many others…artwork is done by the irreclaimable Mister Adam. Ecoute on Soundcloud or Mixcloud!

THE PARTY IS OVER: NO MORE ENTRIES!
Read carefully, we shall only say this once!
We don’t like to talk about music in terms of ‘good’ and ‘bad’. We don’t think one song is better than the other. We don’t think most votes carry the day. Neither do we think the most is the least. Or vice versa. Music isn’t competition. But we do like to jump on every year’s bandwagon of making lists. Because it’s fun. And gives us a splendid reason to give away free music.
What we want you to do is this.
As you may or may not know: every once in a while we put out Fremdblend: a mix of snippets of previously released tunes and tracks that haven’t seen daylight yet. Today we proudly present Fremdblend – volume four! With tracks and appearances by artists like Ben Butler & Mousepad, Big Mister Doom, Coco Bryce, DJ Optimus, Emufucka, Fremdkunst, iET, Julian Edwardes, Kelpe, Kid Sundance, Pierce Warnecke, Planes, Quarta330, Saccage, Soosh and many others. Expect to hear downtempo hiphop, skweee, triphop, jazz, boogie and all types of musica electronique…Thus; friends, Romans, countrymen, lend us your ears for over 40 minutes of fremdness.
On a regular bases we’re inviting talented, befriended DJ’s and/or radio-hosts to do a mix for our ‘Weather Fremdcast’. After previous mixes by Emufucka, Nifkin, R&R, Pathless, Frybread, Coco Bryce, here comes number 8: a fresh cinematic, glitchy, trippy mix by none other than Fine Cut Bodies! Even though the name implies more than one person, behind the FCB letters it’s only one face, Kevin (Chi Recordings, Hungary, Budapest). His musical preferences are really broad: from minimal techno through dance music to experimental, including dub, headz, broken beat, house, techno, electro, breakbeat – you name it. His taste is determined more by his musical attitude and not by any specific genre: he looks for music that’s experimental but not selfish, new but not unlistenable, with lots of percussive rhythm and deep grooves. ..
Besides this wonderful guestmix, we have a few other new mixes on mixcloud: 3 mixes by DJ Mace (one from 2004, one from 2006 and one made this year). You’ll also find the mix OptiMace did for Wax Poetics on mixcloud. Plus: there’s a new May 2012 mix on 8 tracks…so, enough tunes for you to enjoy this sunny day!
