Kid’s Colors is the name of the brand new LP Kid Sundance will release in August 2012: a modern day vintage album, inspired by the library- and stockmusic compilations of the 70′s and 80′s. On Kid’s Colors Sundance combines beat-fuelled Jazz, Funk-grooves, old school Hip Hop vibes, warm melodies with the use of vintage gear. Consider Kid’s Colors to be his productional palette: a decisive look into the mind and soul of Kid Sundance. Kid Sundance has been active as a producer/DJ since the 80′s and worked with artists such as Busy Bee and Dudley Perkins. After all these fun years of releasing music with others, he’s finally about to release his first solo LP on Fremdtunes.
Because it’s his debut, Sundance wants this album to be more than perfect. And perfection is going to cost. More than Fremdtunes can afford. Promoter/musician/producer Hal McGee just uploaded ‘Tape Heads Cassette Compilation Volume One – by various international home-taper audio artists’ (released on cassette in 1998): a collection of strange, nice, terrifying, weird, alienated, what-not, lo-fi tunes. We were invited to contribute with a song for a new, upcoming compilation, but for now download and enjoy yourself with the 1998 tape on bandcamp…
Just to let you know what type of tunes can be heard at the office today, we share the Fremdtunes HQ trackoftheday. And we salute you with this: we will celebrate our 2 year anniversary on April 26 (and a party will probably follow a few weeks later). To make sure you stay up-to-date on our releases, we’ve uploaded Fremdblend – tunes for the future – volume two: a mix of snippets of recent (so it’s not only futuristic) and upcoming releases. It’s exclusively blended by Belgium’s legendary DJ Grazzhoppa. The tape features appearances and tunes by artists like Fremdkunst, Kelpe, DJ Optimus, Prince Po, Coco Bryce, Saccage, Erwin Vann, Jameszoo, Boulaone and includes an exclusive track by Boomoperators ft Phat Kat (Grazzhoppa remix). Artwork, once again by the unstoppable Mister Adam.
A lot has been going on at Fremdtunes HQ. First of all, we are about to release the ‘Chocolate Money EP’ 12″ by Kelpe ft remixes by Huess and Coco Bryce on November 22nd. Just recently we released our first album ‘Fremdkunst: b-beats & soundscapes’ (which had a great review in Dutch music-magazine Fret) and November 1st we put out our first vinyl record: ‘Fremdtunes – the series 1′: a 12″ labelsampler with music by DJ Optimus, Coco Bryce ft Gumshoe (The Proov) and Incks (Real Phresh), Kid Sundance and Solo Moderna. Nice to mention: the debut LP ‘Boesoek’ by Coco Bryce (releasedate February 14th 2011) is being mastered by Mokosound and so is ‘Fremdkunst: Zauberschwein by candlelight’. ‘Zauberschwein’ is a digital EP which will be released as – because we are so very generous people - free download on our bandcamp page. Mister Adam must be the most busy man on this planet because he’s doing all covers and designs for these releases, plus he’s working hard on a new expo with his superb project Mashville.
It’s been a long journey…but finally Fremdkunst: b-beats & soundscapes will be officially released September 23rd. The album, mainly produced by DJ Mace, will be available on Fremdtunes, distributed by Rushhour and Giraffe Records.
