YOUR FREMDTUNES TOP 5 LIST FOR 2012

THE PARTY IS OVER: NO MORE ENTRIES!

Read carefully, we shall only say this once!

We don’t like to talk about music in terms of ‘good’ and ‘bad’. We don’t think one song is better than the other. We don’t think most votes carry the day. Neither do we think the most is the least. Or vice versa. Music isn’t competition. But we do like to jump on every year’s bandwagon of making lists. Because it’s fun. And gives us a splendid reason to give away free music.

What we want you to do is this.

WEATHER FREMDCAST 08112012

November 8, 2012

A short but explosive Weather Fremdcast today!

As one smart fella recently said about the presidential elections in the US: at least things didn’t get worse, we’d like to add that things are really getting better by the second. Why is that? Well, first of all, as you can see on the left side of this post: Mister Adam just finished the handsprayed artwork for Cocofucka – Coco Bryce & Emufucka teamed up for this superlimited 7-inch. It’s out on December 3rd, so stay alert. A nice thing to add to this: Coco Bryce is finishing his second LP on Fremdtunes, entitled ‘Tropical Heat’!

As you may know or not know: on a regular bases we’re inviting befriended DJ’s to do a mix for our mixcloud-page. Today we present Weather Fremdcast Guestmix numero 11: mixed by none other than Prescott-based Filthy Broke. Filthy is serving an original and funky blend of Hip-House, Funkjazz, New Wave, Lowriders oldies, Hip-Hop etc. etc….with tracks by artists like Lonnie Liston Smith, Jungle Brothers, Kid Sundance, Talking Headsso take your pick!

So, enjoy the weather, be a rebel without a car, always think twice and still follow the love-signs.

WEATHER FREMDCAST 09102012

October 26, 2012

Newsflash, reports, reviews, suggestions, tips a.k.a.: Weather Fremdcast 02102012!

As you might know, on a regular bases we’re inviting talented, befriended DJ’s and/or radio-hosts to do a mix for our ‘Weather Fremdcast’. After previous mixes by Emufucka, Nifkin, R&R, Pathless, Frybread, Coco Bryce, Fine Cut Bodies and Big Mister Doom, here’s number 10! This time we have special guest Da Huge aka Hugo de Graaf (Breda, NL) – DJ, organizer and manager of Dubstep-, Electro- & Breakbeatlabel Rub-a-duck (Black Hole sub-label). Slightly different than our previous guest DJ’s, Da Huge serves a special blend of Electronic dancemusic, Breakbeat, Electro and more uptempo, groove-based Funky-ness. Get your back up off the wall!

In the meantime, other mixes have surfaced the vast sea of the internet: this one must be mentioned here: J Rocc’s Medicine Radio Show prt. 1 for Carharrt (for the ‘dig’ heads). Another J, J. Rizzle just published a very interesting mix via Thefindmag, taking you to the essence of Madlib’s Shades of Blue. More blueness on DJ Mace’s Autumnated mix and, for the newest, finest tunes in town you should tune in to Audio Texture Radioshow.

Talking about new music: we just treated you on Emufucka’s Retrace and Kid Sundance’s Kid’s Colors (watch the video too!), but there’s more to explore. Visit our chart on Juno or our 8tracks mix for suggestions. Sparkling new work comes from the Myor-camp: Coco Bryce serves you his most experimental chilled out stuff on Woestijn/Oase and KRSUR (with a remix by Eloq) brings you the next dimension in future beats on his Wayfarer 7-inch. We wouldn’t want to leave you behind without a contest you can join: here’s one by Laid Back Radio: remix the new LDBK poster!

So, les feuilles are mortes and Autumn isn’t leaving yet. Enjoy your week, matter of fact, enjoy your life.

WEATHER FREMDCAST 08092012

September 8, 2012

Forecast for tomorrow…hot, more of the same only hotter. This whole summer we’ve seen the sun come and go. And now it’s back with a vengeance. Time for some news, sunny side’s up…

Well, talking about sun: the Kid Sundance LP is now also & finally available on Bandcamp (digital) and we’ve updated the Kid’s Colors page on this website. Currently, Superelectric aka Henk Loorbach is finishing the video/mini-film for the track Tech City and we can’t wait till the final result is finished: since Henk did this (Noisia), this (DJ Optimus ft Prince Po) and a whole lot of the Fremdtunes-teasers.

More sunny news is coming from Auckland (NZ), where Sola Rosa reside and bring the people sun-filled Nu-soul and Hip Hop. You shall download!

Last but not least you mustn’t forget to listen to the latest DJ Mace cut ‘n paste collection on mixcloud: right here!

Enjoy the weather, love your neighbors, vote for peace and pray for eternal sunshine.

KID’S COLORS OUT NOW!

August 27, 2012

Out now! Kid’s Colors by Dutch producer/DJ Kid Sundance!

Kid’s Colors is the debut LP by  Kid Sundance: a decisively original album, inspired by the library- and stockmusic compilations of the 70′s and 80′s. On Kid’s Colors Sundance combines beat-fueled Jazz, Funk-grooves, old school Hip Hop vibes and warm melodies. The use of vintage gear, exciting guest-appearances and the artist being picky about his samples, makes Kid’s Colors stand out as an illimitable musical trip. Kid Sundance has been active as a producer/DJ since the 80′s. He co-founded Hip Hop Group Boomoperators and worked with artists such as Busy Bee (Wildstyle) and Dudley Perkins (Stonesthrow).
