OUT NOW: OPTIMACE 7-INCH!

November 24, 2011

Out today! ‘The future is not what it used to be’ by OptiMace with remixes by Big Mister Doom, Illy Symphony and KRSUR. Limited edition, currently only available on vinyl

After this year’s ‘Used Future’ (FR2011-02) and ‘This music is not music’ (on Kitchen Dip Recordings) producers-duo OptiMace releases today the first 7-inch in the series ‘The future is not what it used to be’. DJ’s Mace and Optimus invited a whole division of artists to remix tracks of their debut EP ‘Used Future’. Big Mister Doom, Illy Symphony and KRSUR appear on the first 7-inch.

Leeds-based duo Big Mister Doom (UK) kick off the 7-inch and take the song ‘From Lizzie with Love’ to a whole new level and delivers a hot-blooded, downtempo, electronic song. On the B-side, KRSUR (NL) injects ‘Little Nemo in Slumberland’ with offbeat drums and his trademark-synths, luminous as always. New-kid-on-the-block Illy Symphony (NL) brings the single to a closure and enriches ‘The ultimate rhythm machine’ with heavy hiphopbeats, vocalshreds and sawing synths. Currently only available on vinyl! Very limited pressing (150 copies). Upcoming 7-inches include remixes by Deformer, Moods, iET & DJ Optimus, Fremdkunst and DJ Devastate.

On Fremdblend 3.0 these 3 tracks can be found: listen on mixcloud and/or soundcloud.

RELEASEDATES

November 11, 2011

Plans are made. Scheduled releases are re-scheduled and re-re-scheduled and now 2011 is coming to an end and, logically, 2012 is coming closer, we think it’s time to update you on our upcoming releasedates.

First of all: 12/24/2011 OptiMace – The future is not what it used to be – part 1 (7″). The first one in the OptiMace remix-series ‘The future is not what it used to be’ with remixes by Big Mister Doom, KRSUR and Illy Symphony. Pre-order now at Rush Hour! Or send an e-mail to info@fremdtunes.com and we’ll let you know how to get one (we only pressed 150 copies, so be quick). On 12/05/2011 we shall release Fremdkunst‘s ’Like Zauberhulk’ (free digital), the last in the EP-series ‘Zauberschwein im krankenhaus’. It’s a little bit more ‘Frankenstein‘ than it is ’Cinderella’ and a whole lot more ‘PE’ than it is ‘Hans Dulfer’, but you’ll still hear a little bit of Cyndi-Lauper-sings-words-by-François-de-La-Rochefoucauld- soul oozing through the crackling, grating and stamping.

The new year starts with a blast, when we release on 01/19/2012 Pierce Warnecke’s ‘The Machine Regrets’. A spectacular glitched up, melodic, beatheavy mini-album by Berlin-based Warnecke with remixes by Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez, Big Mister Doom & Kelpe (12″/digital) and artwork by Mister Adam & Superelectric. Also in January we start our SEE-A-SOUND expo at bkkc, Tilburg, and we will release the associated album on 01/27/2012. Big Mister Doom will soon follow on 02/06/2012 with their debut EP on Fremdtunes (digital). This one includes two outstanding tracks by Leeds-based producers Ian & Joe and remixes by Pierce Warnecke & OptiMace ft iET (digital). Further more: Japanese youngster Emufucka exposes his ‘Planar Rift’ EP to the world on 03/22/2012. Expect experimental, up- and downtempo beats and remixes by DZA & St. Andrew on this digital release.

Than there’s some classic material by Kid Sundance in the making, Coco Bryce is working on groundbreaking beats and ofcourse Soosh (with remixes by Jameszoo and Kelpe) will release his SoFar EP in the near future. And there’s much, much more coming up… But that’s another story…

WEATHER FREMDCAST 2112011

November 2, 2011

A lot of water falling from the sky, so it’s time for another Weather Fremdcast.

We’d like to kick off with some more news on SEE-A-SOUND. The first results (soundbites and sketches) of the collaborations are to be viewed/listend to on www.seeasound.com. Mister Adam and Coco Bryce ping-ponged chopped up audio-files and graphic forms. Boris Tellegen screen-printed, during the Dutch Design
Week, his reaction to DJ Mace’s dusty, offbeat sound-design. And it seems that Attak and Grazzhoppa formed a new superhero-team. Find out about the collaborations right here: http://seeasound.com/samenwerkingen/en/ and Thefindmag introduces you to the project right here.

As we mentioned before: November 24rd 2011 we’ll release the tremendously limited 7″ OptiMace, the future is not what it used to be – part 1. Big Mister Doom, KRSUR and Illy Symphony did a great job on the music, as did Mister Adam on the artwork. Plus: we’ve uploaded snippets on soundcloud:

Meanwhile, at Fremdtunes HQ, we’re looking ahead and can tell you: 2012 is going to be stacked with new music coming from Pierce Warnecke, Soosh, Kelpe, Big Mister Doom, Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez, Kid Sundance, Moods, EmufuckaCoco Bryce and many more. But before we’re sucked into the new year, Fremdkunst will release the last EP in the series ‘Zauberschwein im krankenhauscalled ‘Like Zauberhulk’ in December 2011.

To finish this post, we’ll update you on some new music: another nice, free download by Coco Bryce – Be Mine, must-have, upcoming release by Sina on Project Mooncircle, new, superb drum ‘n bass by Relay & Front out on Rub A Duck soon and make sure you’ll download this: http://swiftmusic.bandcamp.com/album/super-feelers.

So, enjoy the weather and stay tuned.
