Every two weeks DJ Mace assembles and mixes new music for the Jazznotjazz radioshow at De Concertzender. The program, every other two weeks hosted by Wiboud Burkens and Ruben van Roon is all about new music with no boundaries – you can be sure to hear some jazz, hip-hop, soul, house, funk, electro, bass-based beats, glitch and/or skweee.
This week’s show contains music by Planes (upcoming Fremdtunes!), Rain Dog (wonderful new Project Mooncircle), Russell M. Harmon (intense, soundscapey music released via Rano), King Knut (Musique Large does it again), Atoms For Peace, Kariem Riggins, Grizzly Bear and others. Every episode Mace goes ‘way back’ with a classic and this week it’s 24-carat Black’s Ghetto-anthem ‘Misfortune’s Wealth’.
Let’s kick off with some announcements for the future. The new LP by Coco Bryce (vinyl/digital) ‘Club Tropicana’ will be released on March 25th. Lefto already previewed the title-track on his weekly radioshow. Another upcoming release: February 25th the Paragon EP by Julian Edwardes will see daylight. Ben Butler & Mousepad and Big Mister Doom remixed two tracks. The latter will also release their new EP in April 2013! Some more namedropping? Moods, Jay Hats, Devastate & Optimus…just you wait.
Last year Soosh released his ‘SoFar‘ EP on Fremdtunes. His debut LP will be released by like-minded label Error Broadcast. We had a pre-listen and it sounds promising as hell. One of the album-songs will be played tomorrow on the new radio-show ‘Fremdtunes @ Jazznotjazz‘ at the Concertzender.
Only 200 copies, a killercombo, handsprayed artwork by Mister Adam…so…pre-order your copy of Coco Bryce & Emufucka’s Cocofucka 7-INCH AT JET SET (JP), JUNO (UK) OR RUSH HOUR (NL)!
Next month, Coco Bryce and Emufucka will release Cocofucka on Fremdtunes. Superelectric shot some images of Mister Adam working on the cover of the 7″ and turned it into a little teaser…
Kid Sundance, the man not a myth, released his ‘Kid’s Colors‘ in August and he likes to treat you to an original test-pressing of his debut-album! The pressing comes with a handmade, original cover, created during the 2 year anniversary of Fremdtunes at Bird, Rotterdam, by a girl named Nova.
To win this test-pressing (there can only be one winner) all you need to do is tell us why you should receive this vinyl-piece (o the hell with originality). Respond down below – leave a reply – with a picture, drawing or explanatory text (‘my eyes are beautiful’, ‘I also win pie-eating contests’, ‘I collect vinyl’, ‘I’m Kid’s biggest fan’ etc.). This Friday (26 October) we’ll announce the winner!
On September 24 Japanese producer Emufucka will release his second EP ‘Retrace’ on Fremdtunes, after his previous release ‘PlanarRift‘. One of the remixes on the EP is done by Dutch artist Coco Bryce. And here’s a preview of this boneshattering track!
And Quarta 330 (Japan) also did some amazing remix-work for Emufucka:
Big Mister Doom are Leeds-based Ian Scott and Joe Wretham. In 2010 Big Mister Doom self-released their self-titled EP; a dense and articulate exploration of electronic music. Since then they’ve been remixing work of artists like Eskimo Twins, Muskoaka, Pierce Warnecke, OptiMace and Paper Tiger, working on live performances and preparing new material for 2012. They released their wonderful EP ‘Tinderbox‘ on Fremdtunes in February!
Last day of our coloring contest! You can still join!
