On June 4th we’ll put out the complete ‘Zauberschweinimkrankenhaus‘ album by Fremdkunst! Previously released as seperate EP’s, it’s now re-mastered and all loose ends are tied up.
Juno has the exclusive: you can already download it on May 28.
The sun is out there, reminiscent of some of F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s sharpest lines: “…radiant, growing, gathering light and storing it – then after an eternity pouring it forth in glance, the fragment of a sentence, to that part of him that cherished all beauty and all illusion.”
That being said, it’s time to radiate light on new, old, fresh, crispy, Fremdlike tunes…
Yesterday we uploaded the new guestmix by Fine Cut Bodies. Kevin of FCB is also part of Chi-Recordings and they are about to put out an ambient, filled-with-peaceful-melodies, feels-like-Christmans-on-the-moon-album called Mondoka by Eril Fjord – have a listen! A little bit more raw, but still calm, ambient, warm and also very exciting (because harmonically interesting) is the new EP ‘Wasser‘ by Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie from Switzerland, out on Soulection. Recommended! More coming from beyond the wild frontier: French duo Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez are preparing their new EP ‘Cascades’ (out on Musique Large) and serve their new video to the audience. We had a sneak-pre-listen of the full EP and we know you’re gonna dig this…
Finishing today’s Fremdcast; two releases coming out on June 4 2012: first there’s Jesse Futterman’s ‘Fuse the witches‘ EP on Jus Like Music. The soundcloud preview sounds promising, straight – no chaser, like a white rabbit on a fantastic voyage, jazzy and full of breaks – just the way we like music. Second: we, at Fremdtunes are about to release the definitive ‘Zauberschwein im krankenhaus‘ on June 4 (exclusively available at Juno on May 28). Three EP’s combined and put together in one album, re-mastered and ready to take the world by storm…
So, thank you for taking the time to read today’s Fremdcast and let’s celebrate the Geburtstag of Robert Moog with this!
Producer/DJ Kid Sundance from Eindhoven has been a household name in the Dutch Hip-hop/music-scene. August 2012 he will release his solo debut Kid’s Colors on Fremdtunes. The record will be released on 12-inch. Of course it needs an eye-popping sleeve. Graphic designer MisterAdam & illustrator Dees made a black and white version. And: we want you to finalize and COLOR THE COVER: read all about the how, what, when’sRIGHT HERE!
Last week hail rained down. There was sunburst. And there was thunder & storm. But we have the same old Weather Fremdcast for you: never too cool, always sweltering & just jabbering untill the break of dawn.

We celebrate our second anniversary on April 26 2012! ‘Just’ or ‘already’ two years of blood, sweat, no tears, ear- & eyecandy. And being in motion, on a rampage, in a roller coaster, discovering, uncovering, pondering, rustling, just being there and most of all: having fun.
Of course, we want to celebrate this joyous event with you and we are giving away 4 prizes.
How to become lucky?
- We would like to hear from you which artist you want to see working with Fremdtunes (for example: an outstanding musician, the best graphic designer in the world, Pulitzer price winning photographer, exceptional writer etc.). And explain: why him or her?
- Place your answer in the comment section beneath this post. Don’t forget to state your name and e-mail adress.
- Let us know what price you’re interested in (only one bundle per person).
- Respond BEFORE April 25 (GMT +1 timezone).
We will pick 4 persons who come up with the most original, relevant, beautiful, striking answer and announce their names on this website on April 26.
On January 27nd we celebrated the opening of our exposition of the project SEE-A-SOUND we did with collaborative art project Mashville at bkkc, Tilburg. After two-and-a-half month the expo is coming to end this Friday. April 20 (between 13.00 en 17.00) will be the last possibility to visit the expo at bkkc, Tilburg (NL)!
Yesterday we received, in the traditional mailbox, a beautiful gift by our good friends at Thefindmag HQ: a nicely designed 7-inch called ‘PaleBlueDot‘ with music by Mr. J. Medeiros, an L.A.-based rapper, producer, singer and songwriter. The original version, produced by Stro Elliot and a hook sung by Giannina Ashe, switches smoothly from a ‘Easy like Sunday morning’-vibe to powerful, lyrical eruptions that sound like Urban Dance Squad‘s Rudeboy’s. The remix, done by 20Syl with extra vocals by Canadian MC Shad, adds more electronic Funk synth-lines and heavy drums. Gogetit a.s.a.p., because this one will be sold out quickly!
Sometimes surfing the net for new tunes can be a disappointing. Sometimes you’ll surf into surprises that make your day: like this one, found via 20jazzfunkgreats: A track called Union, by a guy named Saitam, bringing drums, gamelan and an ocean of sound to your ears. Getit.
More music for you to stream: Lee Spacey (The Netherlands) took it upon himself to make a mix/selection of promising young Dutch beatmakers and other artists (including Soosh!) for the FinestEgo platform. Topnotch material for all beatheads!
Promoter/musician/producer Hal McGee just uploaded ‘Tape Heads Cassette Compilation Volume One – by various international home-taper audio artists’ (released on cassette in 1998): a collection of strange, nice, terrifying, weird, alienated, what-not, lo-fi tunes. We were invited to contribute with a song for a new, upcoming compilation, but for now download and enjoy yourself with the 1998 tape on bandcamp…
Just to let you know what type of tunes can be heard at the office today, we share the Fremdtunes HQ trackoftheday. And we salute you with this: we will celebrate our 2 year anniversary on April 26 (and a party will probably follow a few weeks later). The next two weeks we will update you on this matter (with prizes, free DL’s etc.), so staytuned!
