YOUR FREMDTUNES TOP 5 LIST FOR 2012
December 16, 2012THE PARTY IS OVER: NO MORE ENTRIES!
Read carefully, we shall only say this once!
We don’t like to talk about music in terms of ‘good’ and ‘bad’. We don’t think one song is better than the other. We don’t think most votes carry the day. Neither do we think the most is the least. Or vice versa. Music isn’t competition. But we do like to jump on every year’s bandwagon of making lists. Because it’s fun. And gives us a splendid reason to give away free music.
What we want you to do is this.

LAST CHANGE TO CATCH SEE-A-SOUND LIVE!
March 29, 2012
On January 27nd 2012 we openend the exposition ‘SEE-A-SOUND’ at bkkc, Tilburg. SEE-A-SOUND is an interdisciplinary project in which ten acclaimed autonomous designers and an equal number of talented producers/DJ’s teamed up to produce an exhibition and accompanying vinyl record. The ten serigraphs and musical compositions are on display in the exhibition hall at the bkkc, until April 20, 2012.
DJ’s Mace and Optimus will perform one last time for this project at Paradox (Tilburg, NL) on March 30 2012. They team up with keyplayer Wiboud Burkens and saxophone player Joris Posthumus to do an adventurous impro-show. Designers Boris ‘Delta’ Tellegen and Loulou&Tummie will be showing audio-visual work and Mister Adam will premiere his Flip-over-art-act.
Coco Bryce wraps up this evening with a DJ-set filled with Cumbiahop, Skweee, Future Funk and rare and undefinable tunes.

‘LIKE ZAUBERHULK’ OUT NOW!
December 5, 2011Exactly one year ago we released the free ‘Zauberschwein by candlelight’ EP by Fremdkunst. This was the first in a series called ‘Zauberschwein im krankenhaus’. After the release of part 2 ‘O sweet schwein of mine‘ in June, it’s time to bring the series to a closure with ‘Like Zauberhulk‘. ‘Like Zauberhulk’ is a 6-track EP and one more time DJ Mace and friends explore the outer-limits of the nihilistic Fremdkunst-universe.
WAX POETICS MIX BY DJ DEVASTATE
December 1, 2011
We invited our good friend from Sweden, DJ Devastate, to do a mix for Wax Poetics and to celebrate the release OptiMace “The Future Is Not What It Used to Be – Part 1,”. Mellow Madness, Vol. 2 is a mix full of laid back music inspired by the Fremdtunes sound. It contains tracks by DJ Optimus, Damu The Fudgemunk, Soulparlor, Daru Jones, Kev Brown, Wildcookie, D’Angelo, OptiMace and many others. Previously, OptiMace did a mix for Wax Poetics: Mellow Madness, Vol. 1.

OUT NOW: OPTIMACE 7-INCH!
November 24, 2011
Out today! ‘The future is not what it used to be’ by OptiMace with remixes by Big Mister Doom, Illy Symphony and KRSUR. Limited edition, currently only available on vinyl…
After this year’s ‘Used Future’ (FR2011-02) and ‘This music is not music’ (on Kitchen Dip Recordings) producers-duo OptiMace releases today the first 7-inch in the series ‘The future is not what it used to be’. DJ’s Mace and Optimus invited a whole division of artists to remix tracks of their debut EP ‘Used Future’. Big Mister Doom, Illy Symphony and KRSUR appear on the first 7-inch.
Leeds-based duo Big Mister Doom (UK) kick off the 7-inch and take the song ‘From Lizzie with Love’ to a whole new level and delivers a hot-blooded, downtempo, electronic song. On the B-side, KRSUR (NL) injects ‘Little Nemo in Slumberland’ with offbeat drums and his trademark-synths, luminous as always. New-kid-on-the-block Illy Symphony (NL) brings the single to a closure and enriches ‘The ultimate rhythm machine’ with heavy hiphopbeats, vocalshreds and sawing synths. Currently only available on vinyl! Very limited pressing (150 copies). Upcoming 7-inches include remixes by Deformer, Moods, iET & DJ Optimus, Fremdkunst and DJ Devastate.
On Fremdblend 3.0 these 3 tracks can be found: listen on mixcloud and/or soundcloud.
