Ian Scott and Joe Wretham are Manchester-based duo Big Mister Doom. Their follow up to 2012′s ‘Tinderbox‘ EP is called ‘Disconnected Repeater’ and is out now! More mellow and emotive than their previous work, ‘Disconnected Repeater’ is an ingenious mixture of downtempo leftfield hiphop and deeply textured electronic music. Featuring Dutch vocalist & multi-instrumentalist iET and remixes by UK-artists Planes (Lab Beat/Fremdtunes) and Huess (Inaudible Answer).
“Intensely demented electronic funk from the Dutch Skweee king. ‘Club Tropicana’ oozes hypercolour juice from every pore…” says Boomkat. Bleep states: “Few artists have the cajones to attempt a bag as mixed as this; even fewer could pull it off. Well done Mr B.” Kidkanevil thinks it: “Sounds incredible!” Mark Yelavich from Frybread Radio says: “It is so damn good”. Hackman called it “Colourful stuff!” And we like to call it: Club Tropicana…and it’s out NOW – on vinyl and digital!
The 7-ICNH/digital release ‘Cocofucka’ by Dutch DJ/producer Coco Bryce & Tokyo native Emufucka is out now! The two, not held back by bpm- or genre-restrictions, serve up a four track single filled with a combination of loud 808-drums and mesmerizing sounds.
Last September, Emufucka (RBMA 2012) released his second EP, Retrace. Make sure you pick that one up too. In the meantime is Coco Bryce is working on his second LP (Club Tropicana) which will be out on March 25 2012. His debut LP, Boesoek, was released in 2011 on Fremdtunes.
Today we celebrate the release of Retrace by Tokyo-based producer Emufucka (RBMA 2012)!
Emufucka makes his 2nd performance on Fremdtunes with this extraterrestrial 10-track EP. Inspired by the ultimate fate of the universe and the relations of space and time, Emufucka blesses the world with blissful electronica-fuelled rhythm sculptures. The elements for his playful songs range from sweet-natured melodies and delicate drum-patterns to tough sounding basslines and drums. On ‘Can’t nobody step to him’ guest Count Bass D amazes with softly spoken words on a pulverizing beat. Emufucka also invited 4 remixers: Quarta 330, My Dry Wet Mess, Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie and Coco Bryce – all adding refreshing new ingredients to Emu’s cookery.
Out now! Kid’s Colors by Dutch producer/DJ Kid Sundance!
Kid’sColors is the debut LP by KidSundance: a decisively original album, inspired by the library- and stockmusic compilations of the 70′s and 80′s. On Kid’s Colors Sundance combines beat-fueled Jazz, Funk-grooves, old school Hip Hop vibes and warm melodies. The use of vintage gear, exciting guest-appearances and the artist being picky about his samples, makes Kid’s Colors stand out as an illimitable musical trip. Kid Sundance has been active as a producer/DJ since the 80′s. He co-founded Hip Hop Group Boomoperators and worked with artists such as Busy Bee (Wildstyle) and DudleyPerkins (Stonesthrow).
Today we release the definitive ‘Zauberschwein im krankenhaus‘ album by Fremdkunst! Previously released as seperate EP’s, it’s now re-mastered and all loose ends are tied up. With tracks by DJ Mace, Optimus & Vindictiv and guest-appearances by Erwin Vann, Mete Erker, Nicolas Kummert, Rene Everts, Shycop and Freq.
