The brand new EP ‘SoFar‘ by Soosh will be released on March 19 2012. So, while we have to wait a little longer before the EP is out, Kelpe (who released the Chocolate Money EP on Fremdtunes, collaborated with Coco Bryce on Boesoek and did a track for SEE-A-SOUND) gives us a treat by uploading his remix he did for Soosh’s track ‘Speechless’ to Soundcloud. Have a good stream!

While ‘Carnaval’ is surrounding us and closing us in, we still find time to give you a little update on our daily concerns.
The February mix by DJ Mace is online now. It contains some very fresh tunes including new music by DJ Grazzhoppa, Emufucka (of the upcoming ‘Planar Rift’ EP!), Robert Glasper (SaysWho Remix), Taneli Savo, Jameszoo (new EP on Kindred Spirits coming soon!), Mono/Poly, Jesse Futerman and many others.
More mixing: our own DJ Optimus did a refreshing mix filled with essential, contemporary Hip Hop tunes including tracks by Oddisee, Blu, Eric Lau, Evidence and others.

After the release of last month’s SEE-A-SOUND LP we decided to re-release the ‘Ti Amo’ track by R&R Grooove Xpress as digital single, including the instrumental version and artwork by Supernova: here it is!
Kid Sundance & R0nes are the two masterminds who form R&R Grooove Xpress. They’re showing their Funky Electro/Disco/Boogie roots on this dancefloorfiller. It’s been a busy year at Fremdtunes HQ so far and, despite the lasting cold, the forecast seems to be: incalescence!
After the Juno-recommended ‘The Machine Regrets’ by Pierce Warnecke, Boomkat-recommended ‘SEE-A-SOUND’ LP and the Satellite-featured ‘Tinderbox’ EP by Big Mister Doom, we’re all ready and set for the next release on February 13: ‘Ti Amo (De La Fonque)‘ by R&R Grooove Xpress. Kid Sundance & R0nes are the two masterminds who form R&R Grooove Xpress and they’re showing their Funky Electro/Disco/Boogie roots on this absolute dancefloorfiller. This is the first official R&R Grooove Xpress song (the vocal version already appeared on the SEE-A-SOUND LP). Currently, Kid Sundance and R0nes are finishing the video for this record and are working hard on new material. Meanwhile, follow them on Facebook, suck on this sweet lollipop and ‘balla‘!

Afterward, we’re all heading to ‘De Hoogste Tijd’ in Eindhoven, celebrating the release of ‘Ti Amo‘.

It’s out! We are very proud to announce the release of ‘Tinderbox‘ by Leeds-based duo Big Mister Doom!
Big Mister Doom’s Ian Scott and Joe Wretham bring detailed, rich and deeply textured electronic music on their début EP ‘Tinderbox‘. Taking influence from genres including Minimal Techno, IDM and Leftfield Hip Hop, the two introduce the listener to their vast universe of music. The title-track evolves from a subtle yet flammable, groovy tune into an absolute dancefloor filler. The two take it downtempo on the atmospheric, mellow ‘Wilderness’.
Pierce Warnecke flexes his muscles and chops, screws, tweaks until ‘Tinderbox‘ sounds like it’s been revisited by skilful aliens. OptiMace combines forces with guitar player Budy Mokoginta and singer-songwriter iET, making ‘Wilderness’ sound like an adventurous ride into the wild. The eye-catching artwork is done by Cameron Steward.

It’s cold outside, so let us turn up the heat a little.Last week we had the privalage to open the expo ‘SEE-A-SOUND‘ at bkkc, in Tilburg (NL). The 10 subliminal works by the designers and 10 musical pieces were exposed (and will be until April 20). DJ Jameszoo turned knobs, twisted his sounds and sent a bunch of wicked tunes into the expo-space. Rodney Kasandikromo and dance-crew did a colorful performance and the phenomenal trumpeter Eric Vloeimans collaborated with our own DJ Optimus on a super-funky space-jam. And of course we were happy to welcome a whole crowd of enthusiastic visitors who enjoyed the works, beer and performances.
At the same time, we celebrated the release of the ‘SEE-A-SOUND’ 2 x LP/digital release. You can order the album and/or silckscreenprints at bkkc. Stream and download DJ Mace’s ‘Transit Line Ecstacy‘ for free. All the tracks are available at Boomkat, iTunes, Juno and other online stores. The LP can also be ordered at Juno, Rush Hour, Antenne Tilburg and Sounds.
Also, to celebrate the opening of the expo DJ Mace did a mix for Laid Back. Laid Back, subsequently and in collaboration with Thefindmag who did a great job on putting together the magazine for SEE-A-SOUND, booked an add in the magazine and asked their designer (Oli B) to do a mix of tunes he was inspired by! Ecoute!
