Other odd future business: Fremdtunes and Mashville are working with bkkc on See-a-sound. It’s an interdisciplinary project with 10 designers and 10 producers/DJ’s interlinking – to work on a-silkscreenprint-and-music exposition, which will be held at bkkc Tilburg in 2012.  Participating artists are Attak, Grazzhoppa, Boris Tellegen, DJ Mace, Jeroen Erosie, Jameszoo, Graphic Surgery, Kelpe, Loulouandtummie, DJ Optimus, Michiel Schuurman, Soosh, Mister Adam,

In the meantime, alotof good music hit ‘the streets’: classic Dutch hiphop crew The Proov just put out their new LP Off the cuf, Vindictiv did a nice remix, distorted and striking as ever, Frietboer just released Fiks and beatking Coco Bryce released a smashing 7-inch on Saturate. Online magazine scratchedvinyl.com already wrote a very nice review on this LP (vinyl & digital!). Another magazine that mentioned artists connected to Fremdtunes (Kelpe/Fremdkunst) is thefindmag.com which is printed too and can be captured right here. Also, hallo040.nl shed some light on the activities of Fremdtunes and DJ Mace did a mix for ‘m (see below) which features tracks by Sixtoo, Flying Lotus, Soosh (you really need to check this guy’s work on soundcloud), Kelpe, Coco Bryce, KRSUR, OptiMace, Arts the beatdoctor and others. The exclusive track by OptiMace will not (!!!) be featured on the 6-track EP ‘Used Future’, so make sure you download this mix!

FREMDTUNES UPDATE

November 14, 2010

A lot has been going on at Fremdtunes HQ. First of all, we are about to release the ‘Chocolate Money EP’ 12″ by Kelpe ft remixes by Huess and Coco Bryce on November 22nd. Just recently we released our first album ‘Fremdkunst: b-beats & soundscapes’ (which had a great review in Dutch music-magazine Fret) and November 1st we put out our first vinyl record: ‘Fremdtunes – the series 1′: a 12″ labelsampler with music by DJ Optimus, Coco Bryce ft Gumshoe (The Proov) and Incks (Real Phresh), Kid Sundance and Solo Moderna. Nice to mention: the debut LP ‘Boesoek’ by Coco Bryce (releasedate February 14th 2011) is being mastered by Mokosound and so is ‘Fremdkunst: Zauberschwein by candlelight’. ‘Zauberschwein’ is a digital EP which will be released as – because we are so very generous people - free download on our bandcamp page. Mister Adam must be the most busy man on this planet because he’s doing all covers and designs for these releases, plus he’s working hard on a new expo with his superb project Mashville.

New Mashville website online

August 26, 2010

OptiMaceVille: invasion of the lettermen - a cooperation between Mashville & OptiMace

Our friends at Mashville just renewed their website, so go ahead, take a look! Mashville is a collaborative art project initiated by Mister Adam and drJay. The two invite people to work with them by exchanging images in order to create a silkscreen print together. They create one image, pass it on to their collaborator to complete/change and get a completely different outcome back. Adam & Jay work on it some more and send it back again. Image ping-pong so to speak. Once satisfied with the outcome Mashville has it printed and out it in the open!

Fremdkunst resonance EP!

July 28, 2010

Fremdtunes presents ‘Fremdkunst resonance’: a free download EP on Soundcloud by producer/DJ Mace filled with hiphop-beats, lo-fi samples and spherical melodies.

‘Fremdkunst resonance’ is a mix of old, new and revised tracks and preludes the album ‘Fremdkunst: b-beats & soundscapes’ which will be released in September 2010. The EP consists of funky, jazzy, bit-crushed, distorted, noise-generated, over-compressed, spaced-out beats. DJ Mace produced most songs and was assisted by DJ Optimus, Erwin Vann, Frietboer and Shycop. The EP resonates the sound of previous Fremdkunst tracks and Mace was inspired by The Twilight Zone and the works of Double Dee & Steinski and Bret Easton Ellis. Only the first 100 visitors can download the EP – for free!

You can buy one of the tracks right here.

SOME NEW MUSIC COMING UP

July 27, 2010

Currently we are working hard on getting the first official Fremdtunes release (Fremdkunst: b-beats & soundscapes) published. But before the wait is over we will very soon hit you with some more Fremdkunst music: Fremdkunst resonance. A free download mixed EP with old, new and some revised Fremdkunst tracks. One of these days we will put it on our Soundcloud page, for now you can already check out (and buy!) one of these ‘resonating’ songs at our Bandcamp page.
