It’s cold outside, so let us turn up the heat a little.
Last week we had the privalage to open the expo ‘SEE-A-SOUND‘ at bkkc, in Tilburg (NL). The 10 subliminal works by the designers and 10 musical pieces were exposed (and will be until April 20). DJ Jameszoo turned knobs, twisted his sounds and sent a bunch of wicked tunes into the expo-space. Rodney Kasandikromo and dance-crew did a colorful performance and the phenomenal trumpeter Eric Vloeimans collaborated with our own DJ Optimus on a super-funky space-jam. And of course we were happy to welcome a whole crowd of enthusiastic visitors who enjoyed the works, beer and performances.
At the same time, we celebrated the release of the ‘SEE-A-SOUND’ 2 x LP/digital release. You can order the album and/or silckscreenprints at bkkc. Stream and download DJ Mace’s ‘Transit Line Ecstacy‘ for free. All the tracks are available at Boomkat, iTunes, Juno and other online stores. The LP can also be ordered at Juno, Rush Hour, Antenne Tilburg and Sounds.
Also, to celebrate the opening of the expo DJ Mace did a mix for Laid Back. Laid Back, subsequently and in collaboration with Thefindmag who did a great job on putting together the magazine for SEE-A-SOUND, booked an add in the magazine and asked their designer (Oli B) to do a mix of tunes he was inspired by! Ecoute!
We could go on for days, but really, there’s work to do, so we have to sign off, but not without reminding you about our first upcoming digital release by Big Mister Doom! Enjoy!
Today we celebrate the opening of the exhibition SEE-A-SOUND and the accompanying vinyl (double LP & digital)! Tonight, starting at 20.00 hours, the expo at bkkc, Tilburg (NL), will open with performances by Jameszoo, Rodney Kasandikromo and DJ Optimus & Eric Vloeimans.

Also, DJ Mace did a mix with tunes of artists who are (in)directly related to the artists who participate in SEE-A-SOUND for Laid Back in collaboration with Thefindmag. In the meantime, the opening of SEE-A-SOUND is nearing (this Friday) and you pre-listen some of the tracks. Kelpe uploaded his ‘Inklitter‘, he created in collaboration with Graphic Surgery. Stream it here! And Fremdkunst’s DJ Mace collaborated with Boris ‘Delta‘ Tellegen. You can stream and download the track ‘Transit Line Ecstacy‘ for free.
Another SEE-A-SOUND participant (and soon to be releasing his SoFar EP on Fremdtunes, an EP on Up My Alley and a collabo with Memotone on Project Mooncircle), Glasgow producer Soosh, just joined Mixed Bizness for bookings worldwide. Read more about it!
2012. And like Jimmy Castor said: it’s just begun. We’re in the middle of a movement of the office to a new and improved place, working new plans and preparing a whole bunch of fresh stuff.
We told you before about the SEE-A-SOUND expo at bkkc, Tilburg (NL). We’ll officially kick off on January 27th with performances by Jameszoo, b-boy Rodney Kasandikromo, DJ Optimus and trumpet player Eric Vloeimans. You can read all about the opening of the exhibition at http://seeasound.com/agenda/ (in Dutch). If you’d like to pre-listen and pre-order the record that comes with the expo; visit the Rush Hour store! The visual on the side is by Graphic Surgery, who worked with Kelpe for SEE-A-SOUND.
Rouding up our business for 2011 we gladly like to share some news with you.

In the meantime we’re preparing other releases: the definitive tracks for two digital releases recently arrived at Fremdtunes HQ. The first release is the mindblowing Big Mister Doom’s 4-track single ‘Tinderbox’ with ‘b-side’ Wilderness, out on February 4th. Our Berlin-based friend Pierce Warnecke remixed the title-track; OptiMace remixed ‘Wilderness’ with the help of iET (vocals/trumpet) and Budy Mokoginta on guitar. The other tracks we received were by Japanese beat-warrior Emufucka. His 4-track single ‘Planar Rift’ will be out on March 22nd 2012. Special guests are St. Andrew (US) and DZA (RU) who both wonderfully remixed Emufucka’s tracks.
Some major news: we finally have the website of project/exhibition SEE-A-SOUND online! The exhibition SEE-A-SOUND shows you how music is seen by a designer and heard by a musician.
