Mister Adam (Mashville) & DJ Mace (Fremdtunes) performed with SEE-A-SOUND at Stukafest Nijmegen on February 6th 2013. In front of a select group of people, in the room of a student called Lotte, Mister Adam and DJ Mace played their game of audio-visual ping-pong. While Adam worked on the creation of a piece of cut-n-paste wizardry, Mace recorded the cutting, pasting, spraying, talking and coughing of Adam with his Akai sampler and Serato. He then twisted, looped and mixed these sounds, creating new tunes. The two did three performances of each half an hour. Every performance Mister Adam made 20 unique pieces of work.
This free track is an edit of the three soundscapes/tunes that were made during Stukafest Nijmegen, recorded on cassette tape. It contains parts of ‘From Lizzie with Love (original + Big Mister Doom remix)’ by OptiMace.

Kid Sundance, the man not a myth, released his ‘Kid’s Colors‘ in August and he likes to treat you to an original test-pressing of his debut-album! The pressing comes with a handmade, original cover, created during the 2 year anniversary of Fremdtunes at Bird, Rotterdam, by a girl named Nova.
To win this test-pressing (there can only be one winner) all you need to do is tell us why you should receive this vinyl-piece (o the hell with originality). Respond down below – leave a reply – with a picture, drawing or explanatory text (‘my eyes are beautiful’, ‘I also win pie-eating contests’, ‘I collect vinyl’, ‘I’m Kid’s biggest fan’ etc.). This Friday (26 October) we’ll announce the winner!

Out now! Kid’s Colors by Dutch producer/DJ Kid Sundance!
Kid’s Colors is the debut LP by Kid Sundance: a decisively original album, inspired by the library- and stockmusic compilations of the 70′s and 80′s. On Kid’s Colors Sundance combines beat-fueled Jazz, Funk-grooves, old school Hip Hop vibes and warm melodies. The use of vintage gear, exciting guest-appearances and the artist being picky about his samples, makes Kid’s Colors stand out as an illimitable musical trip. Kid Sundance has been active as a producer/DJ since the 80′s. He co-founded Hip Hop Group Boomoperators and worked with artists such as Busy Bee (Wildstyle) and Dudley Perkins (Stonesthrow).

It really isn’t the type of weather to spend time outside the office, so it’s time for another Weather Fremdcast! No guest-mix this time, but we do have the new monthly mix by DJ Mace (Serato broke down, so it’s more of a cut-and-paste-collection). All nocturnal tunes by artists like Soosh, Electric Barbarian, Mr. Brown, Lee Spacey, Max Roach and two exclusive demo-tracks by Coco Bryce and Julian Edwardes. Ecoute!
Recently, the Fremdtunes mailbox flooded with interesting, less-interesting and mind-blowing music. Here’s a few that stood out:

It’s cold outside, so let us turn up the heat a little.
Last week we had the privalage to open the expo ‘SEE-A-SOUND‘ at bkkc, in Tilburg (NL). The 10 subliminal works by the designers and 10 musical pieces were exposed (and will be until April 20). DJ Jameszoo turned knobs, twisted his sounds and sent a bunch of wicked tunes into the expo-space. Rodney Kasandikromo and dance-crew did a colorful performance and the phenomenal trumpeter Eric Vloeimans collaborated with our own DJ Optimus on a super-funky space-jam. And of course we were happy to welcome a whole crowd of enthusiastic visitors who enjoyed the works, beer and performances.
At the same time, we celebrated the release of the ‘SEE-A-SOUND’ 2 x LP/digital release. You can order the album and/or silckscreenprints at bkkc. Stream and download DJ Mace’s ‘Transit Line Ecstacy‘ for free. All the tracks are available at Boomkat, iTunes, Juno and other online stores. The LP can also be ordered at Juno, Rush Hour, Antenne Tilburg and Sounds.
Also, to celebrate the opening of the expo DJ Mace did a mix for Laid Back. Laid Back, subsequently and in collaboration with Thefindmag who did a great job on putting together the magazine for SEE-A-SOUND, booked an add in the magazine and asked their designer (Oli B) to do a mix of tunes he was inspired by! Ecoute!
We could go on for days, but really, there’s work to do, so we have to sign off, but not without reminding you about our first upcoming digital release by Big Mister Doom! Enjoy!
